    One week:

EYELINER: Please wear glasses on the day of your procedure or bring a container for your contact lenses.

WATERCOLOR LIPS: If you have ever had a cold sore, you must acquire an antiviral and show us proof of Rx before proceeding with your appointment. If you choose not to, you are proceeding at your risk of an outbreak after the appointment, as this procedure may prompt an outbreak response.

  • The basic idea of post-care is to facilitate your body’s own natural healing process. Since we’re traumatizing the skin, this means making sure that the area is clean and protected until the skin is completely closed.

Once the skin is closed we want to allow the skin to heal. By keeping the area clear of sebum-build-up and moist, this ensures optimal healing. This usually means people with drier skin need to stay on top of moisturizing and avoiding over-exposure to water, and those with oilier skin need to keep the area clean of excess oil-build up.

EYELINER: Please abstain from wearing contact lenses for 48 hours after the service, as the numbing agent renders the cornea extremely sensitive and scratching it can potentially cause damage and INFECTION!

  • Everyone is different and most are out and about the day of the procedure, but based on our experience aftercare is required a ~2 weeks:

This is tricky because the downtime varies from client to client. Typically, however, we recommend adhering to a 2-week aftercare routine to ensure an optimal outcome.

This said, the downtime really does vary. Even the same client can have varying downtimes and outcomes depending on the client’s current lifestyle (i.e. pre-post baby, stress, health, medication, supplements, diet, climate, workout regimen, skincare, etc.).

Some clients report feeling no visible change in their skin at all while others go through the entire “process,” which means the day after the procedure the affected area turns very dark due to oxidizing of the ink (intermingled with blood, lymphatic fluids , etc.), then the color begins to soften and peel (some report light dandruff-like peeling while others report patchy chunks coming off), then the color appears to go away and then return.

We advise clients to be patient for one full month, as the skin-cell regeneration cycle is about 28 days and will take that long before being fully healed. At that point the true color of the brows is revealed, which is why we wait one month before proceeding with Touch-ups.

    NOTES ON BROWS:

Microblading: You may find that it gets darker the second day and will crust and peel and get itchy! PLEASE do not pick off the scabs! This will prematurely pull the pigment out. Leave your skin as clean, moist and happy for as long as possible. The longer the scabs stay on, the better. Hybrid: Most people report less peeling and scabbing with the Hybrid, but even with flaking, try to minimize it by keeping your skin moisturized and avoid over-exposure to water/steam, etc.

    NOTES ON LIPS:

Day 1 (Day of Procedure): Within an hour of the procedure, wipe lips with the antiseptic wipe included in your Aftercare Kit, followed by a cotton round dampened with lukewarm water. Repeat at bedtime. When they’re feeling dry, apply A&D ointment included in your Kit.

Days 1-5 (Or until the flaking is gone): Do your best not to wet your lips for 3-7 days, aside from the initial cleaning on Day 1. Let them heal! Keep the skin moist at all times; do not let the lips dry out. Continue to re-apply A&D ointment as needed. DO NOT PICK OR PEEL at any scabbing or flaking! Drink all liquids through a straw.

PLEASE AVOID: Water (on the affected area) aside from cleaning them, Makeup, Excessive sweating, Sauna, Pools, Sunbathing, Tanning beds, Spicy food, Vaping (the metal on the mouth piece will make the color turn ashy!), Kissing (sorry!).

DO NOT apply anything besides the A&D ointment during the healing process. Do not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin. Touch-ups (if needed) can be done 4-8 weeks after the original appointment.

    NOTES ON EYELINERS

General Advice: We’re just trying to facilitate and encourage our body’s natural healing processes and to maintain the moisture barrier for as long as possible.

FRICTION is the enemy. NO RUBBING!

Also, gently cleansing the areas are always encouraged. Just use luke warm water and gently pat dry. Apply balm/ gentle moisturizing agent on afterwards. We recommend Cerave. Please do not use Neosporin or Bacitracin. If you use Vaseline or Aquaphor, please use only the TINIEST amount so that your skin can still breathe!
