Article 1

Tuesday May 5, 2020

Hi and welcome to Le Kitsune's Little Magazine. Let’s get back to basics. But- let’s keep it fun.

My goal was to create a collection of succinct, bite-sized beauty content that is as delightful as it is informative. Think of it as a mini-mag for your back-pocket, in electronic-form.

  • The articles will be random, always fun, and totally Le Kitsune (aka cool AF).

  • This Little 'zine will roll-out weekly on Tuesdays with a fresh article in your inbox and humbly await your arrival. Why Tuesday? Bc Mondays are a lot.

Current Mood:

I don't know about you, but I feel pretty beat up from the overstimulating inundation on social media, Netflix, emails, apps... all of it. I wish there was a trash bin I could throw it all in.

Enter: unexpected gratitude during this season. As surreal as this ordeal with Covid-19 has been, it's had its sweet moments. For one, it gave me an opportunity to take a hard step back and hark back to a nostalgic era. I journaled, played board games and spent some good ol' quality time with loved ones. What are you grateful for in this incredulous season? Please subscribe and comment below to share your thoughts. :)

Some extras for funzies…

FYI: My newly acquired quarantine habit: Practicing gratitude. I write down a list of 10 things that come to mind every morning. #7 today was: coffee.

Tippy-Tips:

  1. That little bit o’ blush left in your tin? Crush it up with your favorite chapstick or vaseline for your favorite new tinted lip color. Re-pot in an empty sample jar of eye cream.

    • Extra-credit: take that same color and dab onto apples of the cheeks (while smiling) for an effortless, fresh updated summer look. PS- wear hair in a ponytail or bun. It might get sticky. #irl #lessismore

  2. How to transition from winter-pastiness to summer-glow overnight (w/o looking like an oompa-loompa):

    • Take last summer’s foundation, mix 50/50 with your favorite light face moisturizer.

    • RUB in the palms of your hands and dab, press and tap into your face like it’s lotion. Oh hi summer glow! Again, #lessismore.

    • Overdid it? Take an empty (clean), damp sponge, and gently wipe away from center of the face out to the perimeter.

      • If you reeeally overdid it—add moisturizer to the sponge. Instant eraser in effect.

  3. Easy-peezy summer look: above-mentioned 2 steps, then CURL your lashes like they’re reaching for the heavens!!! (Demo here.) It’ll instantly refresh your look, open up your eyes and make you look perky, even sans coffee. It’s like a push-up bra for your eyeballs.

    • Psst- if you have stubborn thick lashes, start curling from the tip of your lashes and work into the root.

    • Also, it’s how HARD you press (don’t be scurred- test press, then go as hard as you can), not how many times. You’re not going for the crimped/cray look.

  4. Super extra-credit: This is one of my personal trade secrets, and why photographers love me. Opcon-A is my go-to for seasonal allergies, photoshoots and looking extra snatched! Picture Disney-white eyes* People will wonder why in the world your eyes look so crispy good. Caveat- they burn like a mofo for the first couple seconds, but like a good burn, like the wasabi-kind.
